Primary Role
The Maintenance/Health and Safety Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of production equipment and maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
♦️Maintenance Duties:
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
Conduct inspections to identify and address potential mechanical issues.
Maintain an inventory of tools and spare parts to ensure minimal downtime during repairs.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
Collaborate with the production team to minimize equipment-related disruptions.
♦️Health and Safety Duties:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
Organize and implement employee training on safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain proper records of incidents, hazards, and safety measures taken.
Recommend and implement measures to improve workplace safety.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability.
Requirements
♦️A minimum of a Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Health and Safety, or a related field.
♦️Proven experience in equipment maintenance and health and safety management.
♦️Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
♦️Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
♦️Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
♦️Proficiency in using maintenance tools and safety equipment.
